About Us

Communications Insights consults and coaches a small group of marketing and communications clients, both short and longer term.  We view each project as a partnership where we work in tandem for the results that you want.

To each new project, we bring high energy levels, high standards and integrity, polished communications skills, the latest early-adopter strategies and new tools, solid years of strategic and business experience, a problem-solving mindset and an all-important sense of humour if required.

Our specialist experience includes online marketing communications and publishing, social media marketing; corporate and financial relations, media campaigns, marketing/communications coaching; and content creation and business/media writing across digital and media formats.

Current clients are operating internationally and online from Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada and the UK; in industries including business/finance, online publishing and social communities, hospitality and tourism, software and IT; and mobile marketing.

Teri Sawers – Director
Biography Information

Teri Sawers is a seasoned communications practitioner whose 20 years + of international experience encompasses over a decade of online marketing communications and social media marketing, consultancy and in-house public relations, a wealth of business and creative writing, metropolitan newspaper journalism; and marketing/PR coaching, for both corporate organisations, entrepreneurs; and small businesses.

Her communications career has spanned Australia, the UK, Japan, Canada and New Zealand and multiple national and international clients and projects.

Before relocating to New Zealand in late 2009, after establishing her own independent consultancies in Sydney in 1997, and Vancouver in 2003, Teri was previously a Director with Gavin Anderson & Company in Sydney.

Teri earlier headed Gavin Anderson’s Corporate and Financial Division in the firm’s Tokyo-headquartered Japan office, with management responsibility as Vice President and Deputy General Manager; and for 18 months as Acting General Manager.

Teri relocated to Japan after two years in London as Account Director in the Corporate Business Group of Edelman Public Relations, where her media relations work won two UK-wide national excellence awards.

Her substantial Australian-based experience has been gained with leading consultancies including Hill and Knowlton, where she headed the firm’s corporate group, Burson-Marsteller; and Professional Public Relations. She was a 1997 & 1998 NSW PRIA (Public Relations Institute of Australia) Councillor.

Teri entered public relations through an in-house position with the NSW Chamber of Manufactures; after graduating as a journalist and writing for three years for Wellington’s daily newspaper, The Evening Post (now the Dominion Post), in her native New Zealand.

A qualified business coach, Teri was a founder member of the International Coach Federation (Australia) and the ICF’s inaugural Australian marketing committee chair.
